Salgado Genesis Exhibition–Natural History Museum
Met up with Jerry and spent a lovely afternoon absorbing the phenomenally deep black and white photography of Salgado in his Genesis exhibition there.
The weight and tension captured in this photograph cannot re relayed through the medium of the interwebs. I strongly recommend going to see it for yourself. worth every penny.
There was/is something of starvation spiritualism captured here.
Here, I was left with no illusions about this creature’s ability to stay airborne for months at a time. It’s evolutionary design is strong, light and disturbingly fit for purpose. Quite like the impression given by those horrible stealth bombers we have created.
And this one, standing up close, confused my depth perception so much that I could not tell if these birds were in a cave or not.
Beautiful. Go see the exhibition at the Natural History Museum, you have until the 8th September 2013.
Thank you Jerry.
