Which of these alpaca is called Gill O'Tene? (click on the image for a bigger piccie.)

For years I looked at these creatures and thought they were Llamas. Imagine my dissapointment when I found they were Alpaca. I couldn't call them Llarry, Llisa or Llilllly any more.

Now I have to make do with names like Picnic, Toothbrush and Suitcase. Posted by Picasa

Truly exceptional photograph this.

Although the soft focus alpacas might be considered a cliched piece of imagery, clearly the hard focus on the spiky twigs in the mid foreground represent a biting counterpoint recused within the soft focus of the leaves in the immediate foreground.

I think this might be improved by cropping the right side and removing the head of the only alpaca that you can see completely - but I shall defer to the artist and consder this a deliberate quirk in the picture.

As for the shed hanging in the air - pure magical realism!
