humble bee

I know someone who likes to call these things humble bees. I think it is the correct term, we have been getting it wrong for centuries.

Firstly; they hum. Hum, hum, hum, hum, hum. Happily humming their way through the atmosphere from happy flower to happy flower.

Secondly they do it in a bowing, unassuming, mouselike way. Humble if you will. So a bumble-bee is truely a humble-bee in both its sound and its manner.

Humble but not without airs; otherwise it would fall out of the sky.
